Wednesday.. 2 more days to weekend :P Mama terasa amatlah lemau tho there are dozens of things need to be done! Takpelah.. chiayo! chiayo! Motivation: hopefully with this effort Abah and Mama will be able to make more $$ to ensure a better education for you (and of course more shopping.. traa la la..!). Amin.
Anyways, yesterday was quite a wonderful day for Mama~ Mama met Ilse Noor face to face for the first time!

It all started one morning when Mama was having my Graphic Design class at MMC. Mama's mobile phone rang and Mama was about to tell the caller to call me back later as Mama was having a lecture. That was before Mama knew who the caller was, of course. The minute she introduced herself as "Ilse Noor" (http://www.ilsenoor.com) Mama quickly went out of the class to take the call (leaving the students gawking behind)! :P She called when she saw my message on her website and was charmed to know your name is quite similar with hers. We had a lovely chat and she invited us to visit her house -- which her husband named 'kunang-kunang' (so the very comel, kan?).. we planned it to be somewhere during raya, but with the openhouses and all, we still hadn't the time to.
Then, a few days ago Mama received a mailer inviting me to Ilse Noor's IramaSamudra solo exhibition opening at NN Gallery -- what luck! So that was where Mama have been to last evening.. sorry to have kept you waiting, Imaan. Mama would have brought you with me (and even Ilse Noor was asking about you-- maybe you'll meet her when we visit Kunang-kunang, ok) but Abah and Mama went straight to NN Gallery after work since the opening starts at 5pm. But we did bring you to Pizza Hut afterwards-- Abah's students wanted to treat their lecturers, so kita dapat laa join sekaki, Imaan! hehe.

Although Imaan can only take soft solid foods, that didn't really stop you from tasting some pizza (of course Mama had to chew it first for you-- all the while you were eyeing me attentively, waiting until Mama rasa dah soft enough for you to swallow.. hai.. rasa macam Mak Helang dalam National Geograhic Channel pulak..)

It was a nice ending to a nice day.
By the way.. Mama has still to upload some of the images taken during the Open House last sunday. Maybe Mama will do it tomorrow. Ho hum.

Hehe.. memang her work was spectacular--she specializes in a printing techinque known as 'intaglio'.. effect nya sangat2 lah menarik. When I approached her she told me she was overwhelmed to have such a fan (show's how 'Over' I am, huh? :D) I'll post some of her artworks once we managed to go to kunang2.. masa exhibition tu terlalu excited cakap dgn dia sampai tak terambil gambar the artworks!
are you allowed to actually take her artwork and publish them here? fuaaahhh.... sportingnya ilsenoor!

safurah, i met with madam ilse noor at IKEA last weekend.. kite cam muke dia sbb baru jer tgk pic awak dgn dia.. cantik kan dia? does she always wear plain baju kurung? she looks so lovely..
untungnye julie leh terserempak dgn dia -- kat tempat favourite kita lak tu :P Sweet kan muka dia though dah berumur? Dia memang sangat suka culture melayu (maybe that's why dia selalu berpakaian tradisional)--and it influences her artworks too.
mama sarah- now that you mentioned it, maybe I will ask her before publishing it here. But I think usually it's fine as long as you credit the image to the artist and not use it for profit-making.
